Molded grids are available in a wide variety of panel heights, resins, and sizes. Molded louvers are a perfect solution for many applications and many environments.

Inside the fiberglass grating is the molded fiberglass grating made from polymeric resins reinforced with fiberglass or FRP.

Types of Molded Grids

There are different types of molded grids depending on each need:

Heavy duty molded grids

The High Load Capacity Molded Grids is designed and manufactured to withstand forklift loads that traditional molded FRP grids cannot withstand.

These grids are available in Vi-Corr and Corvex resin systems, with a smooth coating or an aluminum oxide top surface.

The heavy duty molded grids are optimal for trench and ramp covers, in storage and loading areas, or in other areas that require a product that can withstand vehicular traffic.

Micro-Mesh Molded Grilles

Micro-Mesh FRP grating is used in a variety of applications including docks, piers, boat lifts, and panel decks. It is also used in swimming pools, marinas, water parks and other public recreational areas.

Micro-Mesh has maximum resistance to UV rays, has a comfortable surface for bare feet and is durable, with a high strength-to-weight ratio. Micro-Mesh panels are the right choice to minimize rolling cart vibration or wheelchair traffic.

Molded Airmesh Grilles

While AirMesh was originally designed to meet specific US Navy requirements for ship air inlet filters, it is also available for use in general marine and industrial applications.

AirMesh is a 3.8 cm 1.3 cm deep FRP square mesh filter product with 0.3 cm thick bars available in a 1.22 m x 2.44 m (4 ft. x 8 feet). This advanced filter features an 87% open area, allowing for abundant airflow. For personnel safety, the grill has a smooth, sanded surface and a tight mesh to prevent contact with fan blades or other moving equipment.

Multigrid molded gratings

Multigrid is a 1.3 cm deep multi-purpose lightweight grid that can be used for a wide range of applications such as filters, machinery guards, fences, dividers and cages.

Multigrid, when fully seated, can be used as a slip resistant floor where wet or slippery conditions exist. It can also provide a cost-effective roof protection corridor and trickling filter media to prevent surface damage when personnel are inspecting and maintaining equipment.

Covered Grating

The covered grating is a long-lasting molded fiberglass flooring product that combines a non-slip floor plate and a molded FRP grating. It can be manufactured in any of the resin systems.

The covered grating offers a robust, level surface for foot or car traffic and provides approximately 30% more rigidity than the open mesh grating.

The covered grill provides sturdy floors to prevent contamination of work surfaces below it, to control subfloor odors, or to prevent tripping hazards from fine heels.

Industrial uses and durability

It is capable of withstanding high temperatures and direct contact with fire, thus preserving the total integrity of its structure, a characteristic that makes it ideal for various applications such as: Offshore, marine, transport and industrial.

This product follows quality control standards and is available in a 1-1 / 2 ″ deep “I” bar with 60% or 40% open area (I6015P and I4015P series).

Resins used in the Manufacture of Molded Grids

Fibergrate uses different resin systems, which offer unique properties. The molded grid offers different resins, the most extensive in the industry.

Vi-cor

A superior vinyl ester resin only from Fibergrate. It was developed for safe performance in the toughest environments.

FGI-AM

This isophthalic resin system offers antibacterial properties to retard the growth of microbes and bacteria on the grid surface. This resin is generally used in health applications.

Corvex

This new isophthalic polyester resin system stands out among competitive fiberglass and metal products, characterized by its corrosion resistance especially for the chemical processing industry and water applications.

XFR

This fire retardant vinyl ester resin is recommended for places where the risk of fire and smoke is high.

ELS

This resin is an acrylic modified polyester, extremely low in smoke emission. It is ideal for mass transit and tunnels.

Super Vi-corr

This family of resin systems consists of more than 30 formulas proposed for the solution of corrosion problems for severe climatic conditions.

FACILITIES IN THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY

Fibergrate worked to analyze existing corrosive environments to determine the right solution for their needs. ViCorr® vinyl ester molded grating was chosen for its high corrosion resistance and ease of cutting. Fibergrate fabrication services were used to cut approximately 3,000 square feet of 1-1 / 2 “deep 1-1 / 2” square mesh grating for walkways and platforms around the processing area.
